La Leche League of Newport

Breastfeeding Support and Information

La Leche League of Newport

Breastfeeding?

Thinking about it? Need information or support?

You are welcome to attend meetings of the Newport group of La Leche League.

What happens at a meeting?

·         Accredited leaders (breastfeeding counsellors) lead a discussion, enabling mums to share experiences and information.

·         Books are available to borrow and buy. We have an extensive library.

·         There is the opportunity to meet and make friends with other pregnant and breastfeeding women.

·         The leaders are available to answer questions about breastfeeding.

·         Everyone is welcome, if they wish to become a member of La Leche League and receive regular newsletters.

Meetings are held at 10am on the first  Friday of every month at Ty Du Welfare Grounds, Rogerstone. We also have a coffee morning on the third Friday of each month-contact us if you'd like to come-we usually have coffee mornings in a member's home.

Topics we discuss are tailored to the group, but include advantages of breastfeeding, overcoming difficulties, early days with a new baby, meeting the needs of family members and beginning solids.

If you would like to come to a meeting, or if you have any questions about the group or about breast feeding, call or email one of the group leaders .
